NETBALL DEVELOPMENT TRUST
Making a Difference Through Netball
WHO WE ARE
A UK registered charity which delivers netball at grassroots level to children in some of the least developed regions of the world
We are a UK charity that uses netball as a tool to bring communities together, where we deliver 'sexual and reproductive health' awareness.
We typically work at grass roots in less developed countries, allowing children the freedom to play and have fun. We work with schools and projects in the community to help young people to become players, leaders, coaches and officials of the future.
We introduce the game of netball to boys and girls who lack access to sports facilities, opportunities, kit and equipment. The relationships they build with the coaches, then allows the delicate subjects sexual health to be discussed.
Our programmes run throughout the year, led by our wonderful volunteers, predominantly in Ghana, Kenya and Uganda. We have partners working hard in Pakistan, though the UK team has less contact with the team there.
Each year a NDT tour party visits the projects to upskill the volunteers, and celebrate the year’s success.
